Ali Pretty, Founder and Artistic Director of Kinetika, recently delivered an ambitious community walking project, Thurrock 100 2016. This 10-day walking festival comprised 10 days of walks and talks exploring Thurrock’s rich (and sometimes forgotten) heritage as told through 100 stories that participants met along the way. The walks ranged from one to 12 miles, from gentle evening rambles to more strenuous weekend hikes, with 21 walks of different lengths, durations and difficulty, plus two walks especially for schools. In all, over 1,700 people took part in the walks over the 10 days.
Ali will be showing a series of works from a walking project undertaken in Wiltshire atthe Mountain Arts Festival and talking about her work on Saturday 22nd October as part of the festival. Tickets for the whole day can be purchased here:
